How to injest EOS footage from a folder to FCP

You can ingest footage using the new FCP EOS log and transfer plug-in from your hard drive. Say if you've already copied the QT H.264 files to a folder on a media HDD.

To ingest this footage you need to have the same directory structure as a Canon CF card.

DCIM/100EOS5D/

But you also need to have the .THM files. I usually copy the .mov files but not the .THM files. The solution is easy, just copy an old one .THM and rename to match the existing file names. All this affects is the thumbnail on the in the log and transfer window.
